The large board walk in Alvor stretches across the dunes and then moves towards the beach on a wooden walk-way. If you don't take the turn to the beach, and continue straight, you will come to the kite surfers bay. The kaleidoscope of colours of the kites sailing over the bay is astonishing to watch. If ever a day were made to dream, you would be dreaming here while watching these kites in the sky. Average walking time is hour to two hours depending on your pace. Bikes and dogs are welcome. This is a wonderful way to get some exercise breathing in the fresh ocean air.

This is a huge lake that was made as a result of the hydro electric and water saving project. There is a rough road that goes around the dam, but as the road can be very unreliable, its best to stick to the walkways. To get there, take the turn off for the Autodrome, then:
  • From the middle of the small village of Odiaxere follow the signs "Barragem da Bravura".

Marinha Walk

From the 125 head south at the lights immediately east of the International School. Follow this road towards the coast,(following the signs for Marinha). Park in the car park. From the car park, you can walk east or left over the cliffs. If you walk east, you will come to more views of the coast and sinkholes. Be careful to stay clear of the edge of the cliffs.
