São Martinho Fair

08/11/2018
Summer heat waves are long gone, but at the end of October into November the St. Martin’s Fair travels across the Algarve moving from Faro, to Albufeira, to Silves, Portimao and Lagos, staying about a week in each location open noon til midnight.

There are plenty of rides from the giant ferris wheel to pumper cars for the younger set and traditional treats for everyone. Traditional roasted chestnuts, Farturas (deep fried dough dipped in sugar and served hot), along with candies, cotton candy, popcorn, grilled octopus, pao com chouriço, (sausage baked inside bread) will keep you more than happy. Isles of shoes, boot, bags, pijamas, jackets, blankets await you. Don’t be afraid to barter especially if buying more than one. And don’t expect that the Channel or YSL bags or the Alligator T shirts to be genuine. But they will last long enough to see you well into the next season! So what are you waiting for, we’ll see you at the fair!
